On 26 May 2026, the Angela Boškin Faculty of Health Care organised an interactive knowledge-sharing workshop titled “CARE-ABILITY: Developing Inclusive and Accessible Learning Pathways in Vocational Education for Migrant Women” at location of The Nurses and midwifery Organization of Ljubljana, Slovenia

The event brought together vocational education and training (VET) experts, employment specialists, healthcare representatives, NGOs, and other stakeholders from the Ljubljana region interested in social inclusion and the long-term care sector. Participants included representatives from members of The Nurses and midwifery Organization of Ljubljana, Slovenia, Adult Education CenterLjubljana Development Agency, University clinical center Ljubljana, repersentatives of Nursing Homes in Ljubljana region and others.

During the workshop, participants (31participants) were introduced to the broader context of demographic trends, labour market needs in the care sector, and challenges related to the integration of vulnerable groups into employment and education. The CARE-ABILITY project and its main objectives were presented, together with the design and core content of the innovative 50-hour training programme aimed at supporting migrant women through flexible and accessible learning pathways.

The discussion highlighted important challenges, including language barriers, mobility issues, and the integration experiences of migrant women from different countries. The workshop encouraged networking, exchange of experiences, and future collaboration opportunities, with invitation to educators to participate while also serving as the second public presentation of the CARE-ABILITY project in Slovenia.
